i'm in ireland with the same problem, isp is Clearwire
Same here :-) ... I'm in Dublin
Don't think its a ISP problem Spawinte as I can tracert fine to CCP server.
Here's what I have found so far after nearly two weeks of this.
Firewalls - I uninstalled my firewall, reinstalled EVE - got a connection to game last Thursday. Restarted PC - connection gone. Firewall gone, still no connection.
I have tried restoring PC to a day when I knew this was working - nothing happening. I don't think a system restore really does restore. I know for a fact that nothing was installed on the PC prior to it not working. I keep it pretty well locked down. Except for security patches etc from microsoft ;-).
I suggest everyone pile in as much info as they can into the thread, it might help someone somewhere.
And please no fixes along the lines of delete your firewall ... we are all adults here.

This is because at some point the people in these other countries are routed thru telenor to get to iceland. I would think that would be obvious but then i assume people are smarter than they are usually. Do a Tracert and you will see where it stops...
The one just before the 3 time-outs is the culprit. Guess what? Telenor.
iPod LoSec - Wants to pod Telenor.
Theres more than one problem here. The broken router is only a new one, its not on my tracert and the problem started nearly two weeks ago for some of us.
Keep those ideas coming. I'm going for a full windows re-install this afternoon.

So what does your traceroute look like?
My tracert looks like this
C:\Documents and Settings\mkearney>tracert 87.237.38.200
Tracing route to 87.237.38.200 over a maximum of 30 hops
1 25 ms 25 ms 33 ms 85.134.128.1 2 21 ms 25 ms 41 ms fe-0-0-0_0.bdr001.dublin.clearwire.ie [85.134.25 5.13] 3 54 ms 41 ms 84 ms lvl3gw.thn.packetexchange.net [212.187.197.193]
4 41 ms 40 ms 33 ms ae-0-53.gar1.London1.Level3.net [4.68.116.75] 5 49 ms 42 ms 50 ms 195.50.91.22 6 51 ms 41 ms 43 ms 87.237.38.199 7 37 ms 69 ms 81 ms 87.237.38.200
Trace complete.
C:\Documents and Settings\mkearney>
Everything looking ok .... At the moment i'm tending towards a client problem. Either with the CCP client or a PC config problem. A re-install of XP should clear that.
Like I said before might be a mix of problems is confusing everyone?

But even the failure of my local traceroute program can't possibly be related to any errors in the EVE client.

Reinstalling Windows will help this problem about as much as changing the sparkplugs in your car will help you connect better to eve. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the problem.
Please stop the guessing and get "networking for blathering idiots" book or something. The Tracerts show you the problem.. end of friggin story.
iPod LoSec - Let the smacktalk begin...
Tone it down ... I already posted my tracert which showed no problems. (Top of Page 4) keep it constructive.
The problem is either
1) my client 2) network 3) CCP Servers
I doubt its 3) as everyone else is in ... 2) looks ok ... which leaves 1)

If the tracerouts/pings show a working connection to the server and we still fail to connect. Then I'm with you, then it's probably a client issue.
me to m8 =(
LOL ... I hate computers
Looks like the ultimate Helpdesk nightmare . Intermittent. I am going to hold off the PC rebuild for a couple of days see if anything/anyone comes up with some ideas. TBH the intermittent nature is suggesting a network infrastructure issue.

OMFG Are you ********? YES, it does STILL look like the same problem... the other machine is going thru a different route... The one WE ALL WANT TO BE ON... Where Telenors router thats down IS NOT... Comprende?
Now stop praying for anything but router failure cause its not gonna happen. Jeebus.
iPod LoSec - Grasping for straws is just pathetic.
Can anyone other than this guy explain this? Seriously. All you are doing is ranting.

Fair enough. My issue is that my tracert pasted below again does not show any connection to telnore and i am guessing this is the same for others. Again I will merely point out that there may be more than one issue here. If I am incorrect iPod simply state where.

Try that and reboot and restart eve... It MIGHT help... It doesnt seem like you are having real network issues according to the tracert anyway.
BTW See if you can search on the www.eve-online.com webpage... the search accesses a server that we Telenords also cant reach.... I am interested to know if you can.
///iPod LoSec
IPod.
I can use the search ok on www.eve-online.com if that is any use to you. I uninstalled and reinstalled eve - total clearout with no effect. I think I'll hold on for a couple of days then maybe start from scratch.
Thanks for sticking with it. And I hope some people are getting some benifit from the thread.

Without appearing to be a complete ****** how does this proxy idea work? I connect to another sever which redirects to the CCP servers? This solves the problem by using a differnt route to the CCP servers? Thus avoiding the problem telnor router(s)?
Spawinte you seem to be closer (geographically as well as methaphorically) to my problem (see previous posts) Have you any luck?

All
See Spawinte's last comment. A good summary of the thread. If you see Telnor on your tracert you can either use the proxy being provided by Uhr (read back) or wait until the dodgy router is fixed, which I believe is Monday. An alliance mate had problems and managed to get them fixed ... here's his suggestion below. This worked for him (sorta) so it might work for others(not me).
== I managed to get my computer working. Had to renew the IP address through DOS.
ipconfig /release net stop "DHCP client" net start "DHCP client" ipconfig /renew
Worked for me. No idea if it will work for you.
Now I can't access the eve-o forums instead..... ==

To all those more IT savvy than myself:
Is there any commands/tools we could be using to help diagnose our problems more fully. Until now all I can tell anyone is that tracert is fine. I am stuck at home for the day and would be quite willing to try anything see if it helps.

Is it time to split this thread? There seems to be a significant group of us experiencing problems that are not connecting through Telnor routers. See comments above form myself and Spawinte among others.
